This wildlife habitat area is owned by the US Bureau of Reclamation and managed by Western Colorado Wildlife Habitat Assn.

DAMAGING or DESTRUCTION of any posted signage or failure to abide by posted rules may be prosecuted accordingly

The following property-use RULES and REGULATIONS apply to the Colorado River Wildlife Area. Because of the physical location and design of this property, it is closed to public entry at all times.

The lake located on the south side of the property is included in the wildlife habitat area boundaries. No surface activities are allowed on the lake.  This includes:

  • No pets or other livestock (especially dogs or horses) in the lake for any reason.
  • No training dummies or other training devices.
  • No boats, watercraft or floatation devices of any kind.
  • No swimming or wading.
  • No walking or any other activity on lake surface when frozen.
  • No remote controlled devices.
Activities Allowed:
  • No remote controlled devices.

Fishing from the south, west and northwest banks of the wildlife habitat area lake only.  Rules and regulations as posted in the Colorado Division of Wildlife fishing brochures apply.

Property boundaries are fenced and/or signed.  Please respect adjacent private property.

Remember these properties are for wildlife habitat.  Please respect wildlife and observe them at a safe distance.
